The elimination of Rosario Central against Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals ended with incidents at the Neo Química Arena. After the 1-0 win by the Brazilian team, a clash between fans of both clubs occurred, and the São Paulo Military Police violently repressed the Argentine fans.
According to ge.globo.com, four Corinthians fans and five Rosario Central fans were detained and taken to the Special Criminal Court (Jecrim), located inside the stadium, after the incidents. The nine involved were taken to the Brazilian Justice and, subsequently, to the Delegation of Repression and Analysis of Sports Intolerance Crimes (Drade), in Barra Funda.
Rosario Central fans got involved in a general confusion with the police after the elimination for Corinthians in the Libertadores. Some Argentine fans were detained.

The episode occurred after the final whistle. While Corinthians fans were leaving the stadium, some passed through the visiting sector, where Rosario Central supporters were waiting for authorization to leave.
There were provocations between both groups, and the tension increased. In the midst of the confusion, some barriers were thrown, and the Military Police intervened. The confrontation occurred mainly between the agents and the fans of the Argentine team.

The four Corinthians fans were taken to the Jecrim for the provocations and for the incidents recorded in the place, while the five Rosario Central fans were directly involved in the confrontation with the police officers.
The tension occurred just a few minutes after Corinthians secured their qualification to the Libertadores quarterfinals. The team led by Fernando Diniz won 1-0 with a goal by Breno Bidon at 34 minutes of the second half and, after the 0-0 draw in the first leg in Rosario, advanced to the next round.
In the next instance, they will face Estudiantes de La Plata.

The incidents added a new chapter to a cross that had already been marked by denunciations of racism in the first part of the series. Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza had denounced racist insults during the first leg in the Gigante de Arroyito, while Rosario Central later accused Brazilian fans of staging provocative and discriminatory acts.
