Lautaro Martínez celebrates his birthday with a group of Argentines in Italy
Lautaro Martínez, Argentine striker and captain of Inter Milan, received a surprise on his 29th birthday. A group of Argentines sang 'Happy Birthday' to him while he was driving his car in Italy.
The episode occurred on Saturday, when the captain of the Milanese team turned 29. In the video, filmed from the other vehicle, it can be seen that his passengers were circulating behind Martínez's car with the windows down while singing the song with a cumbia rhythm.
When they arrived at the traffic light, both vehicles were at the same height. As Martínez had the window down, his reaction was recorded in the filming: first, he observed for a few seconds the car that had stopped next to him, as if he was trying to understand the situation, but then he realized that the celebration was directed at him and smiled.
The forward looked at the people singing with joy and then turned towards his girlfriend, Agustina Gandolfo. She also observed the group, smiled and raised her thumb in approval, while the footballer continued to enjoy the particular celebration.
Gandolfo began to record the scene from inside the car and later published the video on her Instagram account. "Argentines in Italy celebrating the birthday", she wrote next to the images of the moment.
In the recording shared by the footballer's couple, it can be seen the scene from the opposite perspective. In that recording, it can be seen that one of the people was waving a jersey through the window, while Lautaro laughed and joined the celebration by sounding the horn of his car.
The episode occurred after the team, which the Bahian player is part of, achieved a 4-1 victory over Monza, in what was the debut of the group led by Cristian Chivu in the 2026-27 Serie A season.
The former Racing player was a starter and captain in the match played in San Siro, received a yellow card and was replaced at the 9th minute of the second half, when Inter was winning 2-1.
The Milanese team opened the scoring at the 5th minute with a powerful shot from outside the area by Hakan Calhanoglu. Monza equalized before the break, but Piotr Zielinski put the local team back in the lead just as the second half began.
Martínez, who had received a yellow card and showed signs of fatigue, was replaced at the 9th minute of the second half by Ange-Yoan Bonny. Later, Francesco Esposito and Yann Bisseck widened the difference and sealed the 4-1.
In recent days, as LA NACION reported, the situation of the footballer was surrounded by versions about a supposed interest of Barcelona. Before the match, Inter's president, Giuseppe Marotta, categorically ruled out a possible departure of the forward.
"Lautaro is our captain, he represents the current history of Inter. We do not want to give up Lautaro in any way and for any amount", he said.
In this way, he closed the door on the rumors about a possible departure of the attacking player, considered a key piece of the project of the Italian team.
